React Native - Android Push Notification Setup

Configure your Android Gradle build files to provision Google Play Services inside your React Native application. Learn how to inject dependency classpaths and apply plugin identifiers.

  • In your root-level (project-level) gradle file (project_name/build.gradle), add the Google services plugin as a dependency:
project_name/build.gradle
dependencies {
  ...
  classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:4.3.15'
  ...
}
  • In your module (app-level) gradle file (usually project_name/app_name/build.gradle), add the Google services plugin:
project_name/app_name/build.gradle
plugins {
  ...
  id 'com.google.gms.google-services'
  ...
}

OR

project_name/app_name/build.gradle
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
